How we teach PSHCE
We teach PSHCE every day through reminding children of good manners, kindness and consideration, but we also set aside a lesson every week to work through the curriculum objectives. We have been using the highly regarded Cambridgeshire scheme which utilises a lot of discussion, role play, stories, games and scenarios to engage the children and enable them to relate the topics to their own lives.
We will also be working with the Zones of Regulation, a way of recognising, naming and categorising the range of emotions that all of us experience. As part of this, children will learn how to draw from a 'toolkit' of strategies to enable them to help themselves when experiencing difficult emotions.
